Our History

English tailoring has been a coveted luxury that many gentlemen desire for centuries. While bespoke tailoring has become an accepted practice all over the world, Harris & Howard have stayed true to our British roots when it comes to our tailoring style and traditions but with fabrics, choice and style relevant today.

In 2010, noticing a gap in the market for high-quality bespoke suits without the Savile Row price tag, professional clothier Carl Emery decided Harris & Howard Bespoke would be his next venture. When choosing the name, Carl drew inspiration from his beloved grandmothers who faithfully preserved garments during the war and went on to enjoy the fashion explosion of the sixties and seventies.

Carl christened the business using his grandmothers’ maiden names: Harris and Howard.

Since being in business, we’ve noticed how trends have often changed and fluctuated, for example, the way companies are now opting for a more casual office approach, so we pertain to this by growing our range of bespoke and tailored clothing. With generations of experience, our skills combined with our knowledge of modern fashion, technology, and fabric allow us the distinct ability to create both classic and contemporary designs to suit all client’s tastes.

From bespoke business suits to bespoke formal wear and bespoke shirts and trousers, we’re always up for the new and challenging – whatever it is you’re looking for; we’re happy to turn your dreams into reality.
